i really, really like this movie!! i suggest that you watch it if you have not!!

"Those who risk, win." I'm not sure how I really feel about this quote. Maybe that is beacause I often have a hard time actually taking a risk. Or maybe because risking is so hard. But does risk bring life? Does it make life more worth while? Does risking something make you feel better about yourself? About the world and the people around you? When you risk yourself for others does that free you and them or does it just make you feel obligated and tied to them, even if or when you do don't want to be?

ok,ok i'll stop rambling now. but, just think about it. what do you think?

long weekend....

life has been busy! crazy, stressful, difficult, tiring, and long. but good, fun, incredible, amazing, and once in a life time! we have had family night at school, independence day, reading month (or reading 2.5 weeks), weekend trips, our car getting hit, our car breaking down at 11:30 at night on a very dark road, tutoring, homework club, friends, movies, dinners, a talk about appropriate talks and words and topics in school (second graders should not know this much), young life, and i think more but i'm not sure.

This past weekend we had a long weekend...independence day!! yaay for a 4 1/2 day weekend! it was great!! went to the north east part of the island. stayed with some great people! yaay TJ and Holly. got a free concert from him on his new cd. also had a stage set up basically in their backyard for carnival. pig blatter fights. chicken curry pizza. flat tire. pot holes as large as the car. a dead car in the pitch black in the middle of no where road at 11:30 going to pick up Matt and Dave from the bus stop - or gas station, yaay for random people from college came to visit!! who knew the world was so small!!!! and they would be related to the person you live with in another country. fun! beach fun. great times with the locals. back massages. late nights. a hike through the mountains. mud, hills, bugs, trees, cocroaches, and bats...all in flip flops. the bat cave was fun. THOUSANDS of them just flying around (Jim you should be so proud of me!!). the floor was like the Indiana Jones movie with floor covered with bugs. it was such an amazing experience. then dinner at the monument, and hanging out. teaching on 4 hours of sleep in 48 hours is always fun too. but life goes on....and it was a fun weekend!! so i can't complain, and no one will listen to me.   but it was back to school. and work. and spiritual emphasis week. always something going on. but i love it!!! even if i am stressed out! it's great!! and my parents come in 23 days and i go on spring break to LA in less then a month!! oh isn't life fun!!!   yaay for non productive weekends. and great roommates.

oh, and last night was a 4th grade sleep over. we (michelle, katie, allison and I) were bought by some students to help raise money for school. so we planned a sleep over. us and 5 4th graders!! what a night. dancing, making pizza's, popcorn, chocolate covered pretzles, playing games, hanging out, talking, making jewlery, and staying up late! oh, weren't those fun days when you did that. last night was late and i was tired (havne't slept much this week for some reason), but it was still fun!! also a very analyzing night filled with why i make certain decisions and what i want in life and keeping in touch with people and thinking about life. weird combo to a day.

yaay for saturdays and watching movies and catching up on those little things in life!!

faith

"God himself has spoken the great secret. It is one word, 'FAITH'—faith in Jesus for pardon, faith in the Father for providential provision, faith in the Holy Spirit for all grace. In ordinary pathways, men walk by sight; but in the way of life, if we would prosper, we must walk by faith. God is unseen, but He is ever near to those who trust Him. His promises are sure, and He is ever ready to fulfill them. He hears and answers the prayers of believing souls. There is reality in His presence, and true support in His comforts."

~ Charles Spurgeon

God's faithfulness to me is so amazing. I'm realizing more and more lately how much he loves me and cares for me and wants the best for me. I also realize how little my faith really is. it's not just a head knowledge or just a heart knowledge. it's both working together with the word of God to belive and trust in Him. Letting our fears, hurts, emotions, pain, insecurities, inablitity to know the future, and all of those other things go and living and acting and trusting God. Let go and let God. so simple say, yet so hard to do. But faith...even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains...so why don't I have more faith in an amazing powerful, great God?
